Whatever it is,
Taormina is a picturesque hilltop town on the east coast of Sicily. It sits near Mount Etna, an active volcano, and it’s full of gorgeous beaches and fascinating places. A narrow stretch of sand connects to Isola Bella, a tiny island and nature reserve located in the center of the beach.

Red corals grow on rocky seabottom with low sedimentation, typically in dark environments like caverns or crevices, exactly like this beautiful Blue Grotto in Taormina. The coral itself is made by thousands of marine organisms called polyps, which secrete calcium carbonate to form the distinguishing hard red skeleton.

Calabria is the toe of the country’s boot-shaped peninsula. It is a sun-baked region of rugged mountains, old-fashioned villages and turquoise coastlines, and also part of my Genome baggage. Let’s go know more about it!

Today's adventure features a gorgeous tiny beach, an abandoned defensive tower from the end of the fifteenth century, some underwater fishing, and tons of fun. Welcome in the Circeo national park folks!

Exploring the Calabrian coastline while being dipped into the local culture & flavors. Next time I will come here I’ll have to get lost on the beautiful island of Dino, a small paradise of 50 hectares with a maximum altitude of 100 meters, caves everywhere and an interesting fauna & flora.
Whatever .
Shooting more naturalist reportages of the lovely coast of the Cedars, in the upper side of Calabria. One of the most underrated and less known sea destinations in Italy

The Scoglio Dello Scorzone is a twelve meters limestone rock overlooking the beautiful Arco Magno beach. A tiny little paradise that owes its name to the Biacco snake, an harmless viper that used to overpopulate the little island, commonly called Scorzone in the local dialect

Sadly I don’t have enough time to paint all the lovely landscapes & souls I found during this trip in the south of Italy, but I sketched many basic guide lines and i took tons of reference pictures. Back in my studio in Roma I will start working on a series of watercolors & illustration about this fascinating trip, sadly not en plein air tho. Stay tuned for more folks.

New adventure in south Italy starting this weekend! This is my last trip before lunching my new film show & business, a journey to test my most recent production and postproduction process on the road, while also building the structure for the future popup store and mobile gallery. Ready to explore Calabria & Sicilia from any possible prospective? Stay tuned.
ANCIENT GREEK IS STILL IN THE AIR.
Siracusa was founded by Ancient Greek Corinthians and Teneans around 733 BC and became soon one of the major powers of the Mediterranean world. Nowadays the city is still notable for its rich Greek history & architecture, and known as the birth place of the legendary mathematician & engineer Archimedes.
ITALIAN BEACH PARADISE.
Leaving Tropea, city of the sun & the sea, and back on the road towards Sicily. I’m in love with all the places I explored so far around here, but I’m also struggling to find extra time to edit my movies & develop all the pictures, so bare with me for a handful of day before discovering all those amazing destinations thru my reportages & films. On my way to Sicily now, stay tuned!
THE ITALIAN SUN.
Sunbathing is a traditional daily activity for most of the people here in the south of Italy, but my body and my brain can’t stand it for more than three minutes, even considering that the sun is my god. Italian dna with mermen blood.
THE ITALIAN FERRY.
Fretum Siculum, or in Italian Stretto Di Messina, is a channel in the Mediterranean Sea that separates the island of Sicilia and the toes of the Italian boot, Calabria. At its narrowest point, between Torre Faro and Villa San Giovanni, it is 3.1km wide and with a maximum depth around 250 meters. Want to cross it via ferry? 2.50€ by feet 37€ with a car, one way.

Economically speaking Sicily is one of the poorest regions Italy. Here an average wage is a little less than half of what’s the regular up north, the official unemployment rate is double of the national average, and the territory is mostly rural with the classic signs of an agricultural region with thousands of years of man-made deforestation. However, classic statistics don’t make much sense here since almost nobody really applies state regulations or legal contracts, and most work deals are made by a shake of hands. Old school
THE WATERSIDE OF GOTHAM
Even if it is supposed to be spring season the city is still rocking that Gotham look. Everything feels so fictional, rough, inspiring, grittier, dirty, intense & every street feels and taste like home. The funny part is that my real home is a warm, sunny, old place in the outskirts of Rome.
THE LADY IN THE OCEAN
I'm having a chat with lady Liberty about my future, and she seems to agree with my master plan. Thanks for the support Mrs. Now let's start work on it!

FISHING IN FREGENE:
Street photography afternoon on the beach of Fregene but I'm also learning a bunch of things about fishing in the sea with a "Rezzaglio", a traditional cast net. What about you folks ?

Sometimes you have to cross what it looks like an ocean to reach your goals, other times you realize is just a pothole.

Today it's a gorgeous day to cruise around Ostia with a bike, the weather is perfect, the water is surprisingly clear and my cameras are operative again. Kinda.
WINTER IN OSTIA.
Quick bike ride thru the seaside of Rome before heading back to the studio. I have so much editing to do in this days! How are you folks?
